Lost Traumatic Stress Syndrome

"....myself with Lost traumatic stress syndrome---really hard getting excited about much--which has its up points. I will always miss the teams but feel really bad about not being in the fight any longer---sigh" -- Tom

Is this common among guys who are no longer in the Teams? I have a Team 3 friend and I (and his other friends and students) get frustrated with him sometimes because we get all excited about events and things (fencing competitions for example) and he could just really care less (or that's how it seems). He's been out for over a dozen years and it's better now, but it's still an entrenched part of his personality.

Have you run across this problem within yourself and also with other guys who've been there/done that? Is there anything we can do to help the situation for former SEALs? I love Ben dearly, but sometimes his 'jaded enui' just makes me want to smack him one.

What's the best way to handle someone with LTSS?
